The Health and Safety at Work Act made law in 1974 and now including the 1992 Workplace (Health, Safety and Welfare) Regulation which includes preventing Slips and Trips at Work states that in abnormal weather conditions, arrangements should be made to minimise risks from snow and ice on floorway and traffic routes.
